The Thrifty Mistress Goes To Anthropologie

True, there is nothing thrifty about the prices at Anthropologie. Although, the sale section can be quite affordable at times. But let me tell you- which ever human is behind all the magic oozing from the displays there, has to be just about the Thriftiest Mistress there is. The good news is: About everything I see there you can find at a thrift store. Anything else.. Pinterest tutorials, for sure! So gather around Crafty Catheys and listen up Handy Hannahs: The Thrifty Mistress went on a photo shoot throughout Anthropologie in Atlanta, Gerogia && I’m almost totally positive the employees there didn’t appreciate it.

I’m going to challenge myself to find ways to make all these works-o-art for a lot less. I will have them sprinkled through my posts over the next few weeks. So stayed tuned, folks!

The Thrifty Mistress Gets “Lacey & Doily”.

Sounds scandalous, huh?

I knew my gift of clairvoyance was leading me down the right path. I was at a thrift store in Norcross, Georgia a few weeks ago, when I saw a pile of doilies and lace amongst a few piles of linens &&& you would have thought I found that pot-o-gold leprechauns are always searchin’ for.

Doilies

Lace

I am so compelled to convince the world lace and doilies are the new owls and, well, any type of bird; I made a WHOLE  darn Pinterest board dedicated to everything lace and everything doily.

Check it: Lace & Doily

The Thrifty Mistress Likes to Chill

It’s cold in here, and for all the right reasons.

The world is a MAGICAL place, especially for people who love being thrifty and LOVE anything DIY.

And there is nothin’ better than goin’ DIY with all the great natural materials the GOOD Lord gave us. With that being said, I give you:

The Thrifty Ice Cube Series: Let’s Chill!

Fruit meet water, water meet freezer, fantastically crafted ice cube meet cocktail.

The best part is: it’s so inexpensive & so FUN!

Lemons before:

And look how many ways you can make them. I find cupcake pans (in various sizes) at Thrift Stores all the time for a dollar.

Lemons after! Lemonade Anyone?

These are made out of Raspberry Kool aid. 10 Thrifty points if you put those fruity pebbles in a Mason Jar!

Olives!

These (maybe using a different kind of flower) would be great for a SPRING party.

Like ice in your wine? Don’t water it down, be the hostess with the mostess and have some wine cubes handy.

The Dollar Store Is Indeed Thrifty.

Oh yes, the dollar store is Thrifty. Incredibly Thrifty!

Joy’s Hope.

Like I’ve always said, spray paint can make anything beautiful. Including: these ugly silver dollar store platters.

These colors remind me that SPRING is right around the corner!

My New Favorite Thrifty Mistress.

Most of my favorite blogs are those found through my favorite blogs, go figure.

Introducing a definitive Maven, Rachel.

I have a serious addiction to vintage dish ware. Does anyone know where I can get some help? Does the show Intervention, take people who are compulsive thrifters? No, yes? Help.

The Thrifty Mistress Shares Some Knowledge:

My Boyfriend (God bless his soul) always goes thrifting with me. He tries to understand the glory I see in everyday second-hand items. I always tell him, “you have to see it for what it could be, rather than what it is.”

Here is a perfect example:
